WE CONGRATULATE MENDELEEV UNIVERSITY WITH OPENING OF THE ENGINEERING CENTER!
August 21 the Dmitry Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia held the opening ceremony of the Mendeleev engineering center.
The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Mikhail Kotyukov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov, Rector of the Dmitry Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia Alexander Mazhuga, representatives of scientific and educational institutions, large businesses. REATORG was represented at the event by the CEO of the company Georgy Khachiyan.
After the center opened, the participants held a meeting where they summed up the development of engineering centers and discussed the prospects for interaction between the two departments in the framework of joint projects.
The creation of engineering centers on the basis of universities is included in the state program of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia “Development of industry and increasing its competitiveness”. Currently, 49 out of 72 (68%) supported by the federal budget engineering centers have been recognized as successful.
The Mendeleev Engineering Center is a unique project for creating breakthrough technologies in the development of business projects for a full production cycle in the field of chemical technology, including the technology for producing domestic pharmaceutical substances and special chemistry standards. The center operates scientific laboratories in the fields of petrochemistry, agrochemistry, pharmaceuticals, radiochemistry, polymer chemistry, and fine organic synthesis. 40 researchers will work at the Mendeleev engineering center; students are actively involved in the work.
Now at the disposal of the Mendeleev engineering center there are more than 80 units of scientific equipment for elemental and molecular analysis, electron microscopy, determination of physicochemical parameters of solids and liquids. REATORG, as a partner in a number of Mendeleev University projects, took an active part in the technical equipment of the engineering center with chemical equipment, including the installation of a Reatorg TechnologiesTM reactor system of its own production for the pilot synthesis site.
At a meeting with the participation of the heads of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia and the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, representatives of departments, education and business, the results of the joint program of supporting projects for the creation and development of engineering centers were summed up. In his speech, Georgy Khachiyan emphasized the importance of such a format for cooperation between science and business, in which one of the key stages in the development of new technologies - R&D, pilot production - is carried out by similar centers with significant scientific potential, followed by transfer of technology to existing industrial production facilities.
