On June 28, 2019, the 5th EuChemS Inorganic Chemistry Conference (EICC-5) completed its work at the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow

The main purpose of the conference, which was held from June 24 to 28, was to discuss the latest achievements and the exchange of experience between leading experts and young scientists in the field of inorganic chemistry. More than 400 scientists from 26 countries attended the conference.

REATORG sponsored the event.

According to the decision of the Department of Inorganic Chemistry of the European Chemical Society (EuChemS), the next European Conference on Inorganic Chemistry was held for the first time in Russia. The decision taken by a vote of regional representatives of the Department of Inorganic Chemistry, EuChemS, indicates a high international assessment of the scientific results of Russian scientists in this field. This conference was a continuation of conferences regularly held by the European Chemical Society since 2011, and was included in the program of scientific activities of the International Year of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements.

The conference was organized by the Russian Chemical Society. D.I. Mendeleev, Kurnakov Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IGIC RAS), A.N.Nesmeyanov Institute of Organoelement Compounds of Russian Academy of Sciences (INEOS RAS) and Frumkin Institute of Physical chemistry and Electrochemistry Russian academy of sciences (IPCE RAS)

The main thematic areas of the conference were:
• coordination and supramolecular chemistry,
• catalysis and organometallic chemistry,
• organoelement chemistry,
• chemistry of f-elements,
• bio-organic and medical chemistry,
• magnetochemistry
• photochemistry,
• inorganic materials.
