After successful completion of tests of installed machines, units, equipment, both standalone and included into an automatic or technical line, the equipment must be set up. Equipment setup is comprised of adjusting its mechanisms and units, installation of manufacturing aids, production tooling, instruments and tool that are not included in the scope of erection works, in order to ensure equipment operating conditions and its design capacity.
The following operations are also completed:
- break-in of machines and mechanisms delivered to the construction site in disassembled condition (in units and parts) until reaching normal bearing temperature at which bearings, glands and other rubbing parts are run in and adjusted, and installation deficiencies are eliminated that have been found during continuous individual testing with the duration in compliance with the limits specified in regulatory documents;
- pressure adjustment and check, as well as of trouble-free oil supply to all points of centralized lubrication system;
- accuracy of equipment installation into the final position, alignment check of machine units, elimination of loose contact and gaps;
- instrumental verification of system operating parameters.
At this time parameters for existing networks are set up (voltage, water and air pressure).
The system is also tested in idle mode; this is included into preparation for process trial tests. Adjustments are made to optimize equipment operation under load. Works at this stage are performed after all construction and installation works have been completed and accepted by the provisional commission, with the equipment on-line and when a stable production process is ensured.
