REATORG PRESENTS A NEW PRODUCT ON THE RUSSIAN MARKET OF RECTIFICATION EQUIPMENT – EFFICIENT ROTATING DISTILLATION BAD AGT ERBD

Efficient Rotating distillation bads are a new type of distillation equipment used for the recovery of organic solvents, as well as for the separation and purification of products.

This technology, due to micromixing and rapid renewal of the phase interface, improves the gas-liquid mass transfer process and can significantly reduce the height and size of the installation.

Efficient Rotating distillation bad (ERDB) is an alternative distillation process to the classical method. The main unit of the ERDB is a specially designed rotor that rotates inside the housing. The vapor phase flow enters the rotor through its edges. The liquid phase in the rotor moves from the center to the edges due to centrifugal force. Thanks to the design of the rotor, a thin film of the liquid phase is created, with which the vapor phase interacts in countercurrent mode. In essence, the RERR installation is a compact distillation column with an adjustable number of theoretical plates (by controlling the rotor speed).

Currently, ERDB technology is gaining widespread use in the regeneration and purification of solvents such as methanol, ethanol, isopropanol, acetone, acetonitrile, tetrahydrofuran, dichloromethane, ethyl acetate, toluene and others, which are widely used in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

Since the operating principle of ERDB does not differ from classical rectification, it is possible to carry out azeotropic rectification processes in these installations.
